All about Aadhar Card

Aadhar is a 12 digit Digital Identity which is provided by the UIDAI. This program is operated by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), under the authority of the Government of India. How to Apply Aadhar Card?

  • The enrollment of Aadhar Card is free of cost.
  • You can use Pan Card and Voter ID for the proof of Photo Identity and water bill, electricity bill and telephone bill for the Address Proof.

  • You can register yourself at any Aadhar center in all over the India with your identity and address proof.
  • If someone in your family does not have individual document then the head of the family can help his/her to complete further process of Aadhar Card enrollment.
  • If you have no documents for enrollment then contact concerned registrar office.
  • At the time of enrollment, you have to fill correct information, after that the employee of UIDAI will take scanned photograph of your face, fingers and iris. It is a part of registration. After completing all the steps of registration, the UIDAI employees will provide you an Acknowledgement Slip.
  • Once you have completed the whole process of Aadhar Card enrollment, the Aadhar Number will be sent on your registered address.
  • You can enroll yourself just once because you get only one UID number.
  • The Aadhar Card will be sent on your registered address between 60-90 days after successfully registration but sometime it can take longer in case, the enrollment is done by National Population Register (NPR).

  • Aadhar Card is an identity proof with all the important details of individual. Because of Aadhar Card, there is no need to carry other proofs like PAN Card, electricity or water bills etc. for photo and address proof.
  • Earlier, the most of migrated labors and poor person did not have identity. But now, through Aadhar Card, every single person can have their own unique identity which will be valid in all over the India.
  • Aadhar Card provides Unique Identification Number (UID) and because of this we can stay away from duplication.
  • Some people face security issues because of the migration but Aadhar Card solves their problem by giving unique identity.

Is Aadhar Card Important for Every age Group?

Aadhar Card is such an important document for an Indian citizen. If the age of a child is below 3 years then in that case, parents will provide the bio-metric specification on behalf of the child. Once a child becomes 5 years old then the bio-metric specification will be done on the basis of child finger prints and his/her iris scanned photograph. And when child becomes 15 years old then he/she again repeat the same process to update his/her details according to their age.

Foreigners can also apply for Aadhar Card because it will not provide citizenship to anyone. Those people who inhabited in India are automatically eligible to get Aadhar Card whether they are illiterate or literate.
