Indian Navy Pilot/ Observer Recruitment 2016

Indian Navy invites unmarried capable and desired Indian candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) as PILOT/OBSERVER/ NAIC in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for course starting in January, 2017. Candidates are advised to apply on or before the last date of submission of online application form. After the last date of online registration, authority will disable this recruitment’s link from its official website.

Above mentioned course will start st the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala. For the post of NAIC and Pilot only male candidates are applicable and for the post of Observer both Men & Women candidates can apply. Education Qualification:

For Observer & Pilot: BE/ B.Tech in any subject with Physics and Maths at 10+2. Minimum percentage in BE/B.Tech for Pilot entry is 60% and for Observer entry is 55%. CPL holder must have valid and current CPL issued by DGCA (India).

For NAIC: BE/ B.Tech with 60% in any one of the fields i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Instrumentation, IT, Chemical Metallurgy and Aerospace Engineering.

Note: (i) Those appearing candidates who have not completed their degree are not applicable to apply for these posts.
(ii) Each candidate have to fill only one application.
(iii) Those candidates who are eligible for more than one branch/cadre should mention priority in their application form.

Age Limit:

(a) For Observer & Pilot:

  • General Candidates: Age of the candidate should be between 19 to 24 years, born between January 2, 1993 to January 1, 1998.
  • CPL Holder: Age of the candidate should be between 19 to 25 years, born between January 2, 1992 to January 1, 1998 (Applicable for Pilot entry only).

Note: Those candidates who have FAILED in PABT (Pilot Aptitude Battery Test) earlier are not eligible for the post of Pilot, but can apply for the post of Observer.

(b) For NAIC: Age of the candidate should be between 19.5 to 25 years, born between January 2, 1992 to July 1, 1998.

Selection Procedure:

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in examination. Selected candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) have the right to shortlist candidates and to make cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account.
  • SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled from June 16, 2016 to August 16, 2016 at Bangalore for pilot & observer. SSB interviews for NAIC will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam. Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for SSB interview on their e-mail or through SMS (provided by candidate in their application form).
