An expected cut off for IAF exam has been shown as per the sources for X and Y groups:
An expected cut off for group X pursuing examinations is 36.25 marks.
And, expected cut off for group Y pursuing examination is 37.25 marks.
What is the IAF Exam For?
IAF exams are conducted for the male candidates who all are interested to be a part of IAF by pursuing the technical (group x) or non-technical (group y) or both group X and Y course which is conducted twice a year for the interested students/candidates. The authority announced the online registration from 2nd of January, 2019 and the registration will end up on the 21st of January in the same year.
The exams were conducted from 14th of March, 2019 to 17th of March, 2019. The exam is in the form of online written type (OWT) test. The question paper comes in the form of objective type questions. The time period provided for group X to complete the exam is of 60 minutes and 45 minutes for group Y respectively. A total of 85 minutes are provided to the candidates applying for the exam.
The examination procedure for IAF applicants contains six steps which are as follows:
- Online Written Test (OWT)
- Documents verification
- PFT (physical fitness test )
- Adaptation test part 1
- Adaptation test part 2
- Medical examination
All the stages of the exam should be properly cleared for the selection for IAF team. We will update you for the upcoming cut off list. The candidates who will score above the cut off marks in their examination will be called upon for the next stage.
We are providing you a rough idea of the minimum cut off to be expected in this examination. The cut-off list will be soon provided to you once after the exam is conducted successfully.

For group ‘X’ and ‘y’ 7
Previous year cutoff for group ‘X’ was 42 marks.
Previous year cut off for group ‘Y’ was 38 marks.
