About TNEA 2014

Tamil Nadu State Technical Education Board in accordance of Anna University conducts TNEA 2014 examination for admissions in undergraduate engineering programs for the session of 2014-2015.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must have passed Class XII and equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with an aggregate 50% for General, 45% for OBC, 40% for Schedule Tribes, Schedule Caste.
• Tamil Nadu Candidates must have done their last 5 years education from the state.
• Tamil Nadu candidates that have not done last 5 years education from state must provide with Nativity Certificate.
• Sri Lankan Tamil refugees can also apply but they need to provide all the necessary documents.

Seats Reservations

• Open Competition – 31%
• Scheduled Caste – 15%
• Backward Class – 26.5%
• Most Backward Class and Denominated Communities – 20%
• Scheduled Tribes – 1%
• Backward Class Muslim – 3.5%
• Scheduled Caste (Aruynthathiyars) -3%

Communal seats would be filled by the Tamil Nadu candidates only.

Application Form

ONLINE MODE:

• Logon to the official examination website and click “Apply Online” link
• Read all the instructions to fill the form and then fill the form correctly and take out the filled form’s multiple copies for safe side.
• A Demand Draft in favour of “Secretary (TNEA), Anna University” payable at Chennai must be drawn for Rs. 500 for General or Rs.250 for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe.
• Now candidate is required to send the form, Demand Draft and other necessary documents to the examination centre on the address mentioned below in the end.

OFFLINE MODE

• Form can be obtained by any of the designated sale centre or by writing a request letter to “The Secretary, TNEA, Anna University”.
• Read all the instructions to fill the form and then fill the form correctly and take out the filled form’s multiple copies for safe side.
• A Demand Draft in favour of “Secretary (TNEA), Anna University” payable at Chennai must be drawn for Rs. 500 for General or Rs.250 for Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe.
• Now candidate is required to send the form, Demand Draft and other necessary documents to the examination centre on the address mentioned below in the end.

Result and Counselling

The result for the exam will be declared in the form of merit list listed in increasing order with upper rank given to higher marks students and based on that merit rank list candidates will be called for counselling where they will be required to present physically with all the necessary documents and fee in form of Demand Draft. Course and seat will be allocated on the basis of availability to each candidate.
